EL PASO - A faulty cardboard hauler is blamed for starting recycling plant fire yesterday in the 1700 block of East Paisano.

Fire crews battled the fire at Master Fiber for 40 minutes before bringing it under control.

A 36-year-old employee suffered smoke inhalation trying to extinguish the fire.

Two firefighters were injured as well but refused transport to the hospital.

Damages are estimated at $8,000.
