EL PASO - Police are trying to contact the family of a man killed by a car in Northeast El Paso last night.

The deadly accident happened last night on Dyer, near Polk. Police said Ismael Apodaca was driving a Dodge Neon when the unidentified man ran into the street.

Apodaca's car struck the man, and he died at the scene.

Investigators said Apodaca was not speeding or drinking at the time of the crash. They have not said whether the victim was using a crosswalk.

The accident remains under investigation.
