International Food Fair Celebrates Culture
UTEP today celebrated the diversity of its student body at the 13th annual International Food Fair.
Students dressed up and cooked food representing the cultures of Bangladesh, China, India, France, Mexico, you name it.
This is also the biggest fundraiser for student-run clubs on campus, like the Indian Student Association.
"The main aspect of this food fair is we raise money to fund two student for the scholarship," said Indian Student Association president Chandra Pappu.
Because tuition is much higher for international students, the proceeds from this fair help keep many of them at UTEP. The event raised $7,000 for all student organizations last year.
