IMPALED ON FENCE

A Colorado man was impaled Monday when he fell on his wrought iron fence.

The man was on a ladder at his Denver home when the accident occurred around 5 o’clock Monday afternoon.

Fire officials say the fence went through his neck, and they had to cut the fence in order to rescue him.

“In the fire service you think you have seen it all you need to rethink your position because your going to see something you haven’t seen before. An elderly man on a ladder, sometimes that can be disastrous in and of its own self,” said, Lt. Phil Champagne of the Denver Fire Department.

The man was conscious when he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
