SUNLAND PARK, NM - Santa Claus had a very important visit to make in Sunland Park, New Mexico; five days before Christmas.

This year, hundreds of needy children in that area went to the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino to get presents as part of a toy giveaway. The event was organized by the El Paso County Sheriff's Posse.

"This is my first time coming here..I'm excited because I like to see Santa,” said Delilah Correa.

"If you look at the children's faces, you really get a good feeling, and it's something we're real proud to help do,” said Pat Gordon, from the Sheriff's Posse.

Last year, more than 1,000 needy children received some kind of Christmas present as part of this annual event. The El Paso County Sheriff's Posse started this tradition in the 1960's.
