Human remains launched into space
Houston, TX (KTSM) — Do you know what will happen to your body after your death? Why not launch your remains into space? Memorial space flights are nothing new. For years, a company called Celestis has been flying ashes into space. The problem is, they can't stay there, at least until now. The Houston based company is now launching a space archive which will allow digital files, photos, remains to remain in space.
The archive will be launched with a large experimental solar sail being planned by NASA next year. Remains of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, and hair from science fiction writer Arthur Clarke will be on that first flight.
