EL PASO- The retired mechanic who shot two men in Hudspeth County could face charges.  But it will be up to the District Attorney to decide.

That's the word from Texas Rangers today.  A spokesman said the agency is continuing it's investigation into 52 year-old Joseph Denton.

When it's over, a report will be filed, and it will be up to the DA's office to decide if charges are in store.

It was last week that Norangel Velez and his father say they accidentally wandered onto Denton's property. 

Denton opened fire, hitting Norangel and nearly killing his father.
