Fire Fueled by Strong Winds

EL PASO - Tonight, strong winds are being blamed for a house fire in the Lower Valley.

That fire has left a family of 12, homeless. The flames were sparked in the house's back utility room, before ripping through half the home.

We're told nine people were inside at the time, including a five-day-old baby. Luckily, everyone made it out without injuries, and a man who lives in the home said he's counting his blessings, tonight.

"I knew that a newborn baby was at the house and all of the grandchildren we're at the house. We had six children at the house,” said Ruben Tarango.

The Red Cross is helping the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
