House Fire Caused By Dishwasher
An El Paso family in the Upper Valley had a very rude awakening to start their work week.
A fire broke out around 2:00am on the 100 block of La Mirada Circle.
A family of five was inside the home at the time of the fire and safely evacuated after being alerted by their smoke detectors.
Firefighters had to rescue two small dogs that were still inside their kennels inside the garage. No injuries were reported and the dogs were safely rescued.
According to fire officials, the fire started in the kitchen. A dishwasher that wasn't working properly was what caused the blaze, said fire officials causing an estimated $25,000.00 in damages.
The El Paso Fire Department would like to remind the public to test their smoke alarms monthly and change the batteries at least twice per year.
