Horse slaughter plant hits another roadblock
Roswell, NM (KTSM) — A controversial horse slaughter plant in Roswell, New Mexico may not end up getting to open after all.
The U.S. House of Representatives has added a temporary ban on horse meat processing to its 2014 omnibus spending bill.
The bill has already passed the house and is now headed to the Senate, which is expected to pass it.
The legislation comes as the roswell slaughterhouse seeks to become the first in the U.S. to operate since 2007, a move the state's Attorney General has sued to block.
