Hoover to lay off workers
EL PASO — The Hoover Vacuum manufacturing plant in west El Paso is laying off workers. The company plans to eliminate 151 employees at the end of March, cutting its workforce nearly in half. The layoffs come after a review of the company's operations determined that the cuts are necessary to remain competitive. This is the third local manufacturer to announce layoffs this year. Leviton and Boeing are letting employees go. Leviton will close its west side factory in the coming months.
