Hometown Welcomes Austin "No Doubt" Trout With Open Arms
LAS CRUCES — It was a hero's welcome for Las Cruces boxer Austin "No Doubt" Trout as he returned home late Monday night after a successful title defense over Miguel Cotto on Saturday.
Dozens of cheering fans greeted the 27-year-old Las Cruces native who immediately began signing autographs for everybody in attendance. Trout scored a unanimous decision over Miguel Cotto in Madison Square Garden on Saturday remaining undefeated and still champion. Trout said he is enjoying every moment of his victory.
"It's overwhelming, I'm keeping it cool right now and I appreciate all this love and support," he said.
Trout said fighting in New York was the experience of a lifetime and a dream come true.
The Las Cruces native plans on spending time with family but is already looking forward to his next.
