El Paso police evacuate more than 100 homes after a suspicious device was found near a business in Northeast El Paso.

Police say someone saw the device which they thought were explosives and called police Wednesday night.

The device was identified as a military ordnance and was found at CJ Metals which is a scrap yard near Angora Loop and Dyer.

Police say 120 homes were voluntarily evacuated as a precaution while the bomb squad and Fort Bliss officials investigated.

The scene has since been cleared and the device has been removed.

Residents were able return to their homes at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
