"Home for the Holidays" Campaign Looks to Place Animals in Homes for Christmas

Wednesday, December 5, 2012 - 6:11pm

The Humane Society of El Paso and the City of El Paso Animal Services are teaming up to make sure every pet has a home for the holidays, and it means extra savings.

Starting on Monday, December 10, all dog, cat and kitten adoptions will only cost $60, down from the usual price of about $110.
The fee includes spay and neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and registration.

Betty Hoover, Executive Director of the Humane Society of El Paso, said they would like to place more than 500 animals in homes for Christmas.

"No animal wants to wake up here on Christmas morning. Let's have an empty shelter, wouldn't that be fantastic," said Hoover.

The Home for the Holidays campaign will continue through December 24.
