Holloman AFB, NM - (AP) - New Mexico's Holloman Air Force Base is helping supply forces in Afghanistan.

Members of the 49th Materiel Maintenance Group at Holloman have begun moving about 150 truckloads of equipment.

The supplies include 480,000-square feet of AM-2 matting - the equivalent of eight football fields - that will be used to expand the aircraft operations throughout Afghanistan.

The southern New Mexico base also is providing facilities and equipment to establish three 550-person encampments.

Holloman is sending the so-called Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources as containerized cargo that will travel by truck, sea and railway to Afghanistan.
