Woody Allen once said "Eighty percent of success is just showing up." Leaders with the Socorro ISD have found a way to prove to students how rewarding "just showing up" can be.

That reward is a good one. A brand new car is being signed over to one lucky senior with an outstanding attendance record. Five seniors from schools in the district all with outstanding attendance were given a key. And at a ceremony Thursday morning, one by one students twisted their key in the ignition of a brand new Suzuki SX4, donated by Viva Suzuki. The key that cranks it, walks away with with the car.

Daniel Rojas of Mission Early College HS held the lucky key. He says he plays in a band in his spare time and plans on using the car this summer to take his bass and other gear to gigs.
