A 'Healthy Living' class held for seniors promotes good eating habits
EAST EL PASO — El Paso Medicare beneficiaries were invited to a "Healthy Living" cooking class Tuesday.
Care Improvement Plus, a leading provider of Medicare Advantage plans, partnered with the El Paso Diabetes Association to help local seniors adopt healthy eating habits.
Seniors learned nutritional tips for those living with diabetes, snack preparation tips and a healthy cook demonstration.
The class was hosted by Sarah Ruiz, a Certified Chef, and Jean Schiffer, Community Outreach Manager with Care Improvement Plus.
It was held at National Restaurant Supply, 7125 Industrial Avenue in East El Paso.
The event was free for guests 65 and older, and $6 for the general public.
