Harlem Globetrotters raising breast cancer awareness
Las Cruces — The Harlem Globetrotters will be spinning, twirling, and fascinating their fans with pink basketballs next week all for a good cause.
One of their players stopped by our studios and told us all about their performance at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, next Wednesday February 6th. And for the first time, the players say, fans will get to call the shots for the Globetrotters new show, "You Write the Rules" where fans decide the new rule they will add to Globetrotters basketball.
It's not only a fun time for the family, it's a fun way to raise awareness for those fighting breast cancer.
"Every time we start a game or play a game we use two pink balls, just to let everybody know that we're supporting it and we also sell the pink wrist bands at the game and the proceeds from that, a portion of that goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation," Anthony "Ant" Atkinson, a Harlem Globetrotter said.
