H1N1 School Bus Disinfectant
Company disinfects school buses to stop swine flu spread...
Roenigk fleet manager Aaron Silverman prepares to pummel germs with his backpack full of product. He enters the school bus to show exactly how this new tool in the fight against swine flu works.
Row by row Silverman soaks the seats. Roenigk bus company bought this special commercial product for outbreaks such as swine flu. There is no rule that says they have to do this, but Roenigk wanted to have a plan in case of an outbreak. The disinfectant is advertised to kill MRSA.
It takes Silverman about five minutes to spray the bus. The product is advertised to be safe and non-toxic, so there is no need to wear gloves or masks.
After the disinfectant sits for 10 minutes, Silverman wipes the sprayed areas down with a towel.
With kids getting on and off the bus daily, parents say anything extra helps.
The buses are not sprayed down every night. When Roenigk gets a call from a district about sick kids or an outbreak, the bus company uses the treatment to disinfect.
