Group Trying to Save City Hall Hits a Roadblock

A federal judge dealt a big blow today to a former El Paso mayor's fight to to save city hall. Judge David Guaderrama dismissed a lawsuit brought forward by former mayor Ray Salazar and two other plantiffs. The group wanted the judge to delay the demolition of city hall to make way for a Triple A baseball stadium and for the item to be put on the ballot in the general election in May, but he dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice. That means the group can still refile the case. The judge ruled that the case was not a legal matter that needed to be ruled on.

I think all of this would of been settled, had the inconsiderate mayor & city council, placed this on the ballot along with the 3 propositions (which all passed!!!) for the parks, zoo, museum, arts, libraries & hot tax. If the voters had decided not to demolish city hall then all the mayor & council would of had to do was to look at other possibilities downtown or near downtown (if that is where the baseball powers want the stadium to actaully be located at). But they were cowards & said no.
