The Special Olympics Aquatics Team will still have a pool to call home.

They can thank a group of retired Sgt. Majors who donated money to their program. The team needs money to continue renting the pool, so that children with disabilities can train for an upcoming competition. More importantly, it gives the children a chance to grow and develop other skills, not just their swimming.

"Self confidence, it gives them water safety. We have three different groupings, developmental, intermediate and advanced. So some swimmers we have come to us afraid to even get in the water and over time they can overcome that fear and learn to swim or learn to be water safe,"said Purcell.

The center always accepts donations if you'd like to help.
