Green Housing Project Opens
EL PASO, TX — Just before Earth Day, the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso opened up it's $8.25 million dollar "green" community. It's called Paisano Green Community and it is the first "net-zero" public housing in the United States. That mean's the community's solar panels and wind turbines will produce the same amount of power is used by the 73 units. Funding for the project came from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The community will house lower income seniors.
