EL PASO— An El Paso man was taken to a local hospital after his neighbor heard him calling for help and called police.
An El Paso police officer was sent to the block of 7900 Viscount and was told by the man's neighbor that he had heard the 57-year-old screaming for help. The officer went to the apartment and heard the man also calling for help.
The officer broke through the door of the apartment and found the man on the floor suffering from a medical condition. Fire and medical personnel also attended to the man before he was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police said the neighbor’s decision to not ignore the person's call for help “highlights the important role citizens play in securing the safety and well-being of others in the community.”
