EL PASO - The parents of an El Paso drowning victim are getting the help they need to give the child a burial.

As we have reported, 4-year-old JaDavion Jordan died in the family pool last weekend.

Now, a good Samaritan has come forward to help the Jordan family with funeral arrangements and costs.

Angel Gomez says he is helping the Jordan family on his own.

NewsChannel 9 is pursuing this story and will talk to Gomez tonight at 5 and 6 o'clock.

While losing a child is a horrible, tragic we lose them and our response to how they're lost is just as bad.

Do we not have new laws here concerning pool safety? Where were the parents of these children and why are they not held accountable legally in some way?

In the state of Virginia, where I'm from, if a child drowns in a home pool the parents are held as negligent for not keeping a proper eye on them. How many more have to die before something more stringent is done?
