A local dental office is trying to bring smiles to troops overseas this Halloween. In an effort to promote good dental health, El Paso's Kool Smiles Dental is offering a toy in exchange for Halloween candy.

The program is in its second year of "Operation Troop Treats" encourages children to bring in their Halloween candy to any of El Paso's five locations in exchange for a toy. The children can exhange their candy anytime between November 1-6.  The candy will then be sent in care packages to U.S. troops serving overseas via Operation Gratitude

In 2012, more than a ton of candy was donated by children for the troops at Kool Smiles Offices nationwide, and locally, 63.5 pounds of candy was donated in El Paso.
