EL PASO - The city of El Paso is going blue today to raise awareness about risks and treatments for diabetes.
The Binational Diabetes Committee is teaming up with the LULAC Project Amistad to encourage all supporters to wear blue today.
Today Tejano recording artist, Little Joe, will share his story about living with diabetes at LULAC Project Amistad located at 1359 Lomaland Dr. STE. 400.

There are thousands upon thousands of diabetics living here in our community. Every time I go into ANY grocery store, I stare in amazement. Where is the sugar free Ice Cream? Where are the LOW Carb foods and soups? Where is there a good selection of wheat pasta? Where is the low sugar tomato sauces? Where are the diabetic friendly foods in general? The supermarkets could really give a crap. They treat the customers, and this town in general like diabetes doesn't exist at all.
