A follow up to a story we brought over the weekend. The El Paso Fire Department is honoring a 12-year-old girl they're calling a hero. This afternoon Cassandra Davis was awarded plaque at a ceremony held at her school. The 7th grader is being credited with helping save the lives of an elderly woman, a toddler and two dogs. Cassandra called 911 last Saturday when a fire broke out at her neighbor's home on the 9200 block of Montgomery in Northeast El Paso. The fire was contained to a bedroom and was caused by an unattended candle.
