A local production company is presenting a new play for the whole family. To celebrate the company’s 45th anniversary, the Gilbert & Sullivan Company will put on the production, The Mikado.

It’s being widely regarded as the finest Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. The play will captivate and humor you at every turn. Nanki-Poo, son of the Emperor of Japan, is desperately in love with Yum-Yum, but she is betrothed to Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner. Witty lyrics and brilliantly constructed plot twists make this light-hearted tale of forbidden love, deception, and beheadings a favorite among opera-goers everywhere.

The production cast is composed of local volunteer talent and is led by Stephanie J. Conwell, Artistic Director, Marsha Watley, Vocal Director and Ballard Coldwell, Piano Accompanist.
