Getting into the military not as easy as it used to be
Getting into the military isn't as easy as it used to be. According to the Pentagon, a majority of applicants are turned away for not meeting the desired standards.
Those who want to wear the uniform need to be at least a high school graduate, and have a clean record, be free of drugs and criminal actions.
Officials say medical problems and obesity also prevent some applicants from getting approved. Uncle Sam can afford to be a little choosy when it comes to the picking people. That's because the military says there are now roughly two applicants for each opening.
