EL PASO - If you've ever made a trip to the Holocaust Museum, you know what a sobering experience it can be. One of their most important events will be taking place this Sunday.

In honor of Genocide Awareness Month, local Holocaust survivors will be speaking and meeting with the public. The museum says their goal isn't to just remind El Pasoans of the past, but also use those lessons to make a difference in the future.

"To present a call to action to get people to think about their personal responsibility to think about what they can do to prevent future genocides," said executive director

The event is free. It begins at 2p.m. at 715 Oregon.

The people of this country also need to become aware of the genocide that our drug prohibition laws is creating in Mexico and other countries. Prohibition of any commodity drives it underground into the black market and makes it impossible to attempt any form control and regulation. Our own drug laws fosters the violence and corruption that will soon be too vast to control. Our drug laws DO NOT curb drug abuse rates and are ineffective and wastefull.

Just a thought..
