Gas Leak May Be To Blame For House Fire
EL PASO - Firefighters think they've figured out what caused Friday night's massive house fire in Northeast El Paso that sent three people to the hospital.
Investigators are now saying a gas leak is possibly what caused an explosion in the garage and started the fire. It happened around 7pm Friday night in the 10,000 block of Coral Sands Drive.
A disabled woman, her teenage son and his girlfriend were inside of the two-story home when the fire started. They're being treated at a Lubbock Burn Center for 2nd and 3rd degree burns.
We're told that neighbors helped rescue the family inside, and we spoke with a man who saw it happen...
"So I ran over here and saw one lady coming out of the house. I think it was the girlfriend, and she was going like 'Oh my god,' and I don't know when the boy got out there, but I saw some people pull out the mother," William Woolhouse said.
Tonight there's no word on how the three people are doing.
Fire investigators say the fire pretty much destroyed the house and part of the ceiling collapsed.
