El Paso - - The search is on for a killer after an El Pasoan is caught in the crossfire of a gang shooting.
The city's latest murder victim died in the 3900 block of Thomason in Northeast El Paso.
In an update to breaking news last night at 10 o'clock, police describe the victim, Erique Lewis, 19, as an innocent bystander in the shooting.
Today we talked with Erique's neighbor who witnessed the shooting.
She was sitting on the couch watching television when she heard a gunshot outside. Beatrice Maynes says lived with his cousin in a small house behind hers.
She showed us the alley behind their home where an ambulance came to get Erique, who was lying unconscious in the backyard after the shooting.
She told us parties at the home were common and she would usually hear people coming in and out late at night, but she says Erique was a good kid...
"Real good. Kind of shy. He would just get up in the morning at 6. His mother would pick him up and take him to work. he would work from 6-4:30 in the afternoon."
Erique's mother told NewsChannel 9 she is making funeral arrangements.
