SOCORRO — Former County Commissioner Willie Gandara Jr. is expected back in federal court next month to make a new plea.

Gandara was arrested earlier this year on drug trafficking charges, including possession.

Court documents show he'll be making a plea July 26, but it is unclear of the pleas he'll make to the charges.

His alleged accomplice, Juan Canales is also making a plea July 5.
