An 18 year-old student at Gadsden High School was arrested Tuesday after he cut class and then allegedly ran over a security officer's foot with his car.

It happened about a quarter after noon. A district spokesperson tells us the officer tried to stop Pedro Rosales from leaving school grounds, but Rosales ignored him and drove over his left foot. Rosales told his mom about it when he got home and she took him back to school where he was arrested.

He's now being charged with a hit and run. The security officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Las Cruces hospital.
