Temporary closures were planned at Soldier Family Medical Clinic Optometry Services due to personnel furloughs, reduced staffing and the inability to replace departed staff due to the sequestration policies, officials announced through their Facebook Wednesday.

Optometry Services in the trailer next to SFMC located at building 2496 Ricker Road will temporarily cease. Beginning in August, optometry care for patients normally seen at SFMC will be shifted to the Mendoza Optometry Clinic located at 11335 SSG Sims Street until the renovations at the SFMC are complete. The expected completion date for renovations at SFMC is November 2013.
