EL PASO - Fort Bliss will be hosting its first ever torch run in honor of the Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 Olympics.

Wounded warriors from Fort Bliss will be the torch-bearers for the 10-mile trek.

The community is invited to join along or show your support by lining the streets and cheering them on as they make their way to the fireplace at Freedom Crossing where the Fort Bliss Torch will be lit in honor of the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremonies.

The run starts at 9:00 a.m. today at the footprint of the 3rd Brigade, First Armored Division Headquarters on Fort Bliss.

It will end around 1:00 p.m. in front of Freedom Crossing and will be followed by an Olympic-style celebration with music and activities until 5:00 p.m.

If you're going to come out for the run today, you're asked to show your American pride by wearing red, white and blue.
