FORT BLISS - Commanding General Dana J.H. Pittard told a group of soldiers and family members of fallen servicemen and women that if you are an enemy of freedom, your time is short.

Today Fort Bliss officials, soldiers, and families came together for the unveiling of the new "Field of Honor," a granite memorial commemorating the lives of the 53 Fort Bliss soldiers we have lost since September 11, 2001.

We asked Maj. Gen. Pittard how the news of Osama bin Laden's death has affected him. He said while the training and deployment of soldiers will not change, he wanted to send a message.

"It just kind of lets the enemies of freedom know, that your time is short, we will eventually get you," Pittard said.

And while deployment schedules might not change at Fort Bliss, security sure has. Watch NewsChannel 9 tonight to find out what is being done differently and why.
