Franklin Mountains State Park Could Grow to Include Castner Range
EL PASO, TX — The state park could get larger as early as next year, according to Congressman Silvestre Reyes.
Congressman Silvestre Reyes says that parts of the Castner range could become property of the Franklin mountains state park. Every spring El Pasoans gather at the park to celebrate the poppies blooming and now the park could grow even larger for future generations.
"I think we can see the light at the end of the tunnel is to convey Castner range and make it a permanent part of being a state park," said Reyes.
Reyes says next week the vote will be on the floor, but he doesn't know exactly when the final decision will be made.
