Four people sickened by suspicious powder
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — The FBI is working tonight to identify a suspicious substance that was found at a northeast El Paso business this afternoon. The El Paso Fire Department's Hazmat team was called to Datamark, a mail processing facility on Butterfield Circle, at around 4:30 Friday when an envelope was opened containing a white powdery substance. Officials say four employees came in contact with the substance.
"Two of the people were complaining of itchy hands and face," said Battalion Chief Ramon Valencia with the El Paso Fire Department.
Valencia says one of those people was taken to the hospital. The fire department was at the scene late into the night taking samples for the FBI to test.
