Fort Bliss Soldier Killed In 'Operation: Enduring Freedom'

A Fort Bliss Soldier supporting Operation Enduring Freedom died March 31, in Logar Province, Afghanistan. Spc. James E. Dutton was assigned to the 125th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

"Team Bliss and the 1st Armored Division is saddened by the loss of Spc. James E. Dutton. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow Soldiers during this difficult time," stated 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss Commander Maj. Gen. Dana J.H. Pittard.

A memorial ceremony in honor of this fallen Soldier will be coordinated and announced at a later date.

Soldiers from the 3-1 BCT deployed to Southwest Asia in September and October 2011, to provide stability and security operations.
