A Fort Bliss soldier was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a post office in Northeast El Paso.

It happened Sunday at the Summit Heights Post Office on Dyer Street.

El Paso police say they saw Michael Mckiesmith fleeing from the scene but found him walking out of the Players Billiards a short time later.

Mckiesmith was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and his bond was set at $50,000.

The officers also found a bag of tools as well as a safe inside the post office.

Mckiesmith's vehicle was located parked near the post office.
