With military sexual assaults now in the spotlight, Fort Bliss and local assault organization "STARS" joined forces Monday to train soldiers on post on how to prevent it.

It's part of what's called SHARP or the Sexual Harrassment Assault Response Program.
Since December, six Fort Bliss soldiers have been punished for sexual-related crimes. All have been discharged and getting jail time.

Soldiers throughout the post participated in interactive training through hypothetical situations.

"Kind of putting the training as more realistic as opposed to just seeing a slideshow or video on sexual assault or harassment," said 1LT April Hudson said.

They're urging casualties and witnesses to contact their company, battalion, brigade, or installation-level sharps to report sexual harassments and sexual assaults.
