El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Fort Bliss leader, Major General Dana Pittard, is leaving after three years as it's commander, but not before speaking about ways Fort Bliss has helped military sexual assault victims.
Pittard says the number of military personnel reporting sexual crimes has gone up.
However, he says this may be a good thing because they are trying to make soldiers feel more comfortable about reporting incidents.
"We're putting more of our attention on our victims and it's amazing how our victims have been treated before, as far as being asked not to rock the vote for reporting. Which now, we're taking the opposite approach." said Major General Pittard.
Pittard also says more men are reporting military sexual assault crimes.
