Fort Bliss could house migrant children

El Paso, Texas (KTSM) - Fort Bliss could soon serve as a temporary home for undocumented migrant children again.

According to our partners at the Texas Tribune, the Department of Health and Human Services will visit four military installations in the next couple of weeks, including Fort Bliss to determine if they can set up child shelters.
The agency is responsible for providing foster care for migrant children until a family member or another can take custody. H.H.S. has 100 facilities but those are close to capacity.

Fort Bliss was used as a shelter for migrant children in 2016.
