Fort Bliss Conducts Emergency Hazmat Exercise

Fort Bliss officials conducted an emergency exercise Wednesday morning to help train Fort Bliss Emergency management staff and personnel involving a hazardous material spill scenario.

The exercise caused a portion of Old Ironsides Drive to be closed. East Fort Bliss motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

The exercise will include participation from: Fort Bliss Emergency Services that include WBAMC, the Fort Bliss Fire Department with support from the El Paso Office of Emergency Services, the Fort Bliss Military Police and the Team Bliss Operations Center with crisis management staffing.

Motorists, bystanders, and those passing near the area should NOT be alarmed as the exercise may appear to be real however, it is ONLY an exercise.
