FORT BLISS - While you were reacting to Osama Bin Laden's death, so was Fort Bliss.

The post has beefed up security, especially at the gates. Easy access has been suspended for the time being and officials will be randomly checking ID cards.

They say they don't have any information on any specific threats here in El Paso or on post, just that it's in reaction to yesterday's announcement of bin Laden's death.

"Not only our military but the state department is doing the same thing with our embassies worldwide, as it should be, it's a precautionary measure," said Commanding General Dana J.H. Pittard.

If you don't have a military ID card or approval from Fort Bliss you can still get a pass to be allowed on post. To do so, visit: https://www.bliss.army.mil/epass/.
