Former Texas mayor arrested in eight-liner raids
CAMERON COUNTY, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Cameron County, state and federal law enforcement agencies raided two illegal gambling establishments on Friday evening resulting in the arrest of former Brownsville Mayor Pat Ahumada.
The raids were part of Operation Bishop, which is targeting eight liner businesses in the county. The two establishments raided were, the Goldmine 777, located at 854 N. Expressway 83/77 in Brownsville and the Longhorn Sweepstakes, at 113 W. Queen Isabella in Port Isabel.
Goldmine 777 owner, Pat Ahumada, was arrested and charged with keeping a gambling place and seized more than 200 computers and other assorted equipment.
