Former EPISD administrator accused of wrongdoing
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — Another former administrator in the El Paso Independent School District is accused of wrongdoing. Mary Elvia Rodriguez, the former principal of Whitaker Elementary School, allegedly accepted personal gifts from employees, misused public funds for staff parties, and encouraged employees to miss work without using personal leave. This according to an audit conducted by EPISD.
Rodriguez resigned as principal in january after giving up her certification as a supervisor. She now works as a counselor in the Gadsden ISD but was placed on leave this week when the report surfaced.
