Food City raises awareness, money for children with muscular dystrophy
EL PASO (KTSM) — A local grocery store is partnering with MDA to raise awareness and money for children with muscular dystrophy.
Bikers and other volunteers sold shamrocks outside the Food City Supermarket on Alameda and South Estrella on Saturday.
The money will go to help children, like Phoenix Payan, with muscular dystrophy attend summer camp. It would be Phoenix's first time to camp.
"What they do with the donations, it brings a smile to the kids face, helps them out. It's not just for the kid but it's for the family as well," said Phoenix’s Father Mauricio Payan.
Food City will sell the shamrocks until March 17. Each one is only $1.
