Representatives from CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, will speak Monday in Temple Terrace to update the press on Tariq Abu Khdeir's case.

The 15-year-old student at the University Academy of Florida in Tampa was beaten by police and thrown in jail in Israel after being suspected of participating in violent protests. He was released Sunday by an Israeli court to serve a nine-day house arrest in Israel and ordered to pay a $900 fine.

Tariq was arrested July 3, while visiting family in Israel, for allegedly throwing rocks at Israeli police officers, protesting his cousin's death.
